brittany

the morning i left bourbriac i walked to the square in the center of town. it is only a few houses down. business had not yet started and light mist surrounded the landscapes behind the stoney-laid town. it must have rained the night before, for the air was very cold. leaves in the distance waved slowly at me.

days in brittany were wonderful, i fell in love with liberté, her mum, her baby daughter, their two cats and new litter of kittens. there was one kitten, he was the cutest, whom by the last night would cuddle up next to me to sleep. heavy eyed it would lick my fingers with its brush like tongue, then curl by me and rest.

together (the cats and kittens stayed at home though) we ventured to the forests and seas, islands and storms. all around brittany we went. the landscapes were like those from folklores, surreal and mysterious. there were never too many people, as if no one knew about such gems lying sleepless next to them. liberté was so kind to me, and i think brittany will remain for a long time one of my favourite places.
